The drive motor system, which is kinematically isolated from other parts of the CMM, is completely independent and the motor drive is controlled from the center of gravity. This not only prevents metrological errors due to heat, but also insulates CMM engines from other parasites.
Since linear motors work without contact, they have no wearing parts and with this they give excellent results for CMM control, safety and minimum maintenance.
With its fast, smooth and silent movement, Horizon provides ideal operation for contact scanning and sensitivity under 2 microns.
